Lottery number generator
Up to 20 lines at a time for six major games or a game you set up, with the main numbers sorted and the bonus balls kept apart.
Jackpot odds for each game
The chance that one line matches every number in a draw is one divided by the number of different lines the game allows. For a game that picks k numbers from m, plus c bonus numbers from b, that number is:
lines= C(m, k) × C(b, c)C(n, r) = n! ÷ (r! (n − r)!)
Powerball= C(69, 5) × C(26, 1) = 11,238,513 × 26292,201,338
| Game | Main numbers | Bonus numbers | Jackpot odds per line | Rules checked |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Powerball | 5 from 1–69 | 1 Powerball from 1–26 | 1 in 292,201,338 | Powerball prize chart; North Dakota Lottery |
| Mega Millions | 5 from 1–70 | 1 Mega Ball from 1–24 | 1 in 290,472,336 | North Dakota Lottery (game from 5 April 2025) |
| EuroMillions | 5 from 1–50 | 2 Lucky Stars from 1–12 | 1 in 139,838,160 | National Lottery game procedures |
| Eurojackpot | 5 from 1–50 | 2 Euro numbers from 1–12 | 1 in 139,838,160 | LOTTO.de game rules |
| UK Lotto | 6 from 1–59 | None to pick | 1 in 45,057,474 per round | National Lottery game procedures (edition 22, June 2026) |
| Lotto 6/49 (Canada) | 6 from 1–49 | None to pick | 1 in 13,983,816 (Classic Jackpot) | LOTTO 6/49 game conditions |
All rules were checked on 10 October 2026. EuroMillions and Eurojackpot are separate games but use the same matrix, five numbers from 50 and two from 12, so their jackpot odds are identical. Each UK Lotto draw has two rounds, and every line is entered into both, so a line’s chance of matching six in a draw is about twice the chance per round; the operator puts it at 1 in 22,528,738. Our figures are computed from the ball counts and agree with each operator’s published jackpot odds. In Lotto 6/49 the figure is the chance of the Classic Jackpot; the game’s Gold Ball Jackpot is won by a ticket number drawn at random, which players can’t choose.
More lines raise your chance in proportion and nothing else does. Ten different Powerball lines give 10 chances in 292,201,338, which is about 1 in 29.2 million.
How each line is drawn
Each line is made the way a draw machine works. The main numbers are drawn one at a time from the balls still left, so a line never contains the same number twice, then sorted from smallest to largest. The bonus numbers are drawn the same way from their own pool and shown after the plus sign. Every draw uses your browser’s cryptographic random generator with rejection sampling, so each ball in a pool has exactly the same chance.
Lines are independent of one another. With “No repeated lines” ticked, a line that matches an earlier one in the same batch is thrown away and drawn again, which keeps every remaining line equally likely.
Every combination is equally likely
In a fair draw the line 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 has exactly the same chance as 7, 18, 23, 31, 40, 44: one in 13,983,816 in Lotto 6/49. Lines that look random feel more likely only because there are far more of them. Of the 13,983,816 possible 6/49 lines, 44 are six consecutive numbers, while millions are an untidy mix.
The same applies over time. Balls have no memory, so numbers that came up last week, or have not come up for months, have the same chance as every other number in the next draw.
Popular patterns and shared prizes
Many players choose numbers that mean something to them, and dates are a common choice. A date can only use the numbers 1 to 31, so a line built from birthdays or anniversaries is confined to a small corner of the game. The table shows how small: in Powerball only 1.51% of all main-number combinations use nothing above 31.
| Game | Main combinations | All numbers 1–31 | Share |
|---|---|---|---|
| Powerball | 11,238,513 | 169,911 | 1.51% |
| Mega Millions | 12,103,014 | 169,911 | 1.40% |
| EuroMillions and Eurojackpot | 2,118,760 | 169,911 | 8.02% |
| UK Lotto | 45,057,474 | 736,281 | 1.63% |
| Lotto 6/49 | 13,983,816 | 736,281 | 5.27% |
Choosing such a line does not lower your chance of matching the numbers. What it can change is how many other people hold the same line. A jackpot, and in some games other prize tiers, is divided between all winning lines, so if the drawn numbers happen to be a popular pattern, such as all dates, a run like 1 to 6 or a straight line on the play slip, each winner may receive a smaller share. The UK National Lottery’s own procedures allow prizes to be capped when “popular number combinations are drawn” and there are more winners than expected.
A random line avoids deliberate patterns but cannot guarantee an unshared prize, because other players also use random picks and any line can be chosen by someone else.
A note on gambling
Lottery play is gambling, and on average a ticket returns less than it costs: the UK Lotto procedures, for example, set aside about half of sales for prizes. A generated line has the same chance as any other line, and nothing on this page can improve the odds shown above. Each lottery operator lists support services for anyone worried about their own or someone else’s gambling on its website.
Questions
Do generated numbers have a better chance than numbers I choose myself?
No. Every combination has exactly the same chance in the official draw, whoever or whatever chose it. A random line only differs in being less likely to follow a pattern that many other players also pick, which matters for how a prize is shared, not for whether you win.
Which games are included, and how were the rules checked?
Powerball, Mega Millions, EuroMillions, Eurojackpot, the UK National Lottery’s Lotto and Canada’s Lotto 6/49. The number of balls in each game was checked against the operator’s or a member lottery’s published rules on 10 October 2026, and the odds table above lists where. Lotteries do change their rules, as Mega Millions did in April 2025, so the custom setting is there for any game not covered or changed since.
Why are the Mega Millions numbers different from an older ticket?
Mega Millions changed its game for tickets bought from 5 April 2025; the old game ended on 4 April 2025. The Mega Ball pool went from 1–25 to 1–24, while the five main numbers still come from 1–70, so the jackpot odds moved from 1 in 302,575,350 to 1 in 290,472,336.
What does “No repeated lines” do?
It stops the same line from appearing twice in one batch. Two identical lines on one ticket can only win the same prizes twice; they add nothing to your chance of matching the numbers. With the large games a repeat is very unlikely anyway (about 1 in 74,000 for 20 lines of Lotto 6/49), but in a small custom game it is common.
Why doesn’t the UK Lotto line have a bonus ball?
You choose only six numbers for Lotto and for Lotto 6/49. Both games draw a bonus number from the same balls after the main numbers, so there is nothing extra to pick. In UK Lotto it only counts towards the “five plus bonus” prize; in Lotto 6/49 it also counts towards the prize for two numbers plus the bonus. Under the UK Lotto game procedures in force from 7 June 2026, each draw has two rounds and every line is entered into both.
Can I check my ticket or buy one here?
No. This site only generates numbers and does not sell tickets or check results. For results and official rules, use the lottery operator’s own website.
